Our Sod Installation Process:
At Gardenstone Landscaping, we believe that a world-class lawn starts long before the first roll of grass is laid. While sod provides that "instant green" look, its long-term survival depends on professional execution and precision.
Soil Amendment
A great lawn is grown from the bottom up. We begin by clearing the area of all debris, and old turf. To ensure the best start, we recommend a soil amendment—incorporating organic matter—to create a nutrient-rich environment that encourages immediate root growth.
Grading
To prevent drainage issues, we meticulously rake the area smooth. We ensure soil sits 1 inch below hardscapes (sidewalks and curbs) so the grass is perfectly flush. Proper grading ensures water flows away from your foundation and doesn't pool in your new yard.
Install Sod
We lay 100% Kentucky Bluegrass from Greenhorizons Sod Farms for an instant, vibrant landscape. Once the sod is down, we perform a thorough site cleanup so your new yard is picture-perfect from day one.
The Critical 14-Day Window
The first two weeks are the most important. We recommend a deep soak immediately after installation, and daily watering for the first week, and every other day for the second week-the soil underneath should be moist to the touch. We advise keeping foot traffic to an absolute minimum during this period while the root system anchors itself.
